Apple Blossoms

Apple Blossoms

Our new apple tree symbolizes hope. My husband, Ian, and I bought it on our latest wedding anniversary (28th). By grace, we have grown closer, in every way, over the years. We have had our seasons of drought when our relationship seemed to wither for a while. It is always our hope, in the Master Gardener, that kept us grafted together. We’re committed. Because we have basic good will towards each other, we can grow as a unit.

My favorite marriage book is Love and Respect by Emerson Eggerichs. This author has wisdom and wit. It’s great resources, like this book, that enable us to be fruitful in our relationship. Recently Ian said, “We’re doing it.” He went on to say that we’re growing old together. This is something we’ve both wanted and had voiced many years ago.

It’s my hope that many years from now we’ll still be enjoying the fruits of a healthy marriage and the apples from our anniversary tree.

May the God of  hope fill you with all joy and peace

as you trust in him,

so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

    1. Thank you, Mike, for thinking of my blog. I don’t do awards anymore – but I post a thank you (with links) occasionally for any nominations. I have made myself a note. Congratulations on your award!

Blessings dear friend ~ Wendy 🙂

  1. I appreciate your honesty. I guess all marriages go through rough patches. I always despair and then time passes and we are in love again, even deeper. What a lovely thing to do– planting a tree on your anniversary.

    1. Ellen, I agree that all marriages have rough patches. It’s wonderful when a couple tends to their marriage lovingly so that weeds and drought don’t win. My husband and I are closer with each year that passes. I’m so glad to hear that’s true for you too. ❀
